As a recent graduate of Oberlin College (next to the flat soybean fields of Ohio), Hilary is excited to be working with Young Friends in New England. At Oberlin Hilary majored in Environmental Studies and Latin American Studies, ate delicious food in the cooperative dining system, spent all of her time playing Ultimate Frisbee, and met soulmate-friends.
Hilary grew up as a Quaker in the NEYM community, and loved the Young Friends. Throughout her high school and college years, she worked with the Junior High and Young Friends groups at the FGC Gathering, doing art workshops and hanging out with rad folks. As a Young Friend she was a part of Ministry and Council and clerked one year. All this being said, Hilary is continually questioning her spirituality, trying to figure out what the differences are between the Spirit and the Soul, and considering what religion has to do with any of it.
A list of things Hilary loves talking about: gender identity; sexuality; sustainability, gardening, farming and loving the outdoors; goats; wanting to keep bees and make honey; living in an intentional community with goats and bees and co-RP Lucy Churchill and other Quakers and people who love goats; environmental justice and why it's so darn hard to get local foods; Mexico and Central and South America; and much, much more.
